My brother has a 6610 that went swimming last summer(he's the dummy of the family ). The phone was opened up, cleaned thoroughly, and reassembled. The problem with it is that it displays the insert sim card warning (when the sim is inside of course) but it works perfectly with my mum's sim card and a friend of mines sim. They are both very old and from different networks in Greece. I have tried it with 5 other sim cards and I always get the insert sim card message. I read somewhere that if I heat the ccont it should work on a 8210. Given that I'm the ultimate noobie, I have no idea whether this will actually work in the 6610. Also I have no idea how to spot the ccont(I said I was a noobie.). I have tried to find out how to spot it by searching the site but I was unsuccessful.
Please help me. I am really into fixing it as if it gets fixed, I get to keep it!
