Firmware upgrade

I heard if ur phone on the warranty, u can upgrade the firmware 4 free! is that right?? I found a cingular service center, not far away, and was wondering if they'll do it for free!
Also what can u tell me bout my version, it's: 3.16! Does it have a lot of bugs??
is it common for the 3650 to power off by itself, I think it did this today, 4 the 1st time??

yes, when under warr, flashing is free.

and no, its quite common for symbians to restart, hang, etc...

but if u wanna upgrade, its quite worthy to do so, latest is 4.13, and many good comments bout it, like better sound, clearer.

And that I should go and flash my phone!
Like, I had a siemens sl45 phone, and i used to flash it by myself, and know that if u upgrade firmware it doesn't touch ur eeprom! But what bout nokia, does it do anything wit the eeprom while flashing??

no idea bout the eeprom thing.

i got the upgrade on my 3650 to fix the earphone problem, how it plays mp3s etc through the loud speaker and my hands free unless i plugged it in very slowley. it fixed that problem but gave me another one. the phone always hung at the nokia logo when i started it up, i ende dup takin the battery out bout 3 times before it would start up properly. i sent it off for repair but got it back 3 weeks later to find it has the same problem still. i formatted it my self and wiped the mmc twice to be sure and it seems to be ok now, how ever i did get a "sim registration failed" error message every time i exited out of the menu, yet every other sim i tried worked fine. dunno what i did but it works ok now

theres a recent post about this new firmware, think its called problem with 3650 by a dude called sony_ericson or somethin. he's got the same problems i had and more.
