6600 Backup thru PC Suite

I previously had my Nokia 6600 backup'd onto my PC thru PC Suite via BT Connection. Those DAT files in "C:\Nokia\Nokia 6600\backup" are still there ranging from "1.DAT" to "3139.DAT", filestore.DAT, filestore.DAT.TXT and mmc.DAT

Now, once I get my Nokia 7610 ... how do I trasfer the contacts from those DAT files on my computer (backup'd from my 6600) to the 7610?

If 7610 confuses some people, use 7650 instead or something ...

Do you know if this is possible at all - as doesnt the backup process copy files specific to the phone?

Maybe someone with 2 different phones eg 6600 and ngagehas tried transfering the backup from one to another... youd probably do it the same way.

But surely youd not want to install a backup that could potentially mess up you phone anyways... it would be cleaner just to install all the apps again from scratch...
