What's that about with that time loss..???

    Hi there

I am facing a somewhat strange problem. It does not seem to have to do with the phone (6600) but must be something else.... because it appeared on my older phone (3650) as well!

That is, my phone's clock persistently loses exactly 4 minutes over a day! Never more but never less.

If i set the time correctly (auto time update disabled), within 24 hours it will be running four minutes late. It stays there, never gets more than four minutes!

BUT if i set the time in advance four minutes (to let it "catch up", sort of) it will be 48 hours later again four minutes late!!!

AND if i enable "auto time update" it STILL does it!!!!!!!

What could that be caused from?

I have the following apps installed, that have to do with "time" and that are daily in use:

    Psiloc World Clock PRO
    WorldMate
    Alarm Manager

I was running these same apps on the 3650 as well, and there it happened too. But it does NOT happen on my boyfriend's 6260, even tough the same apps are installed there as well. But he's on a different GSM network.

    Any help..?

    Kind regards.......

    your Thanh

Do you use PC Suite? Because when you connect your phone to the PC using PC Suite, it sets your phone time to that of your PC. So if your PC is 4 minutes late, then this could be the reason. If this is the case, adjust the time on your PC.

computer's sync... must be something else

    Hello

Thanks for suggestion. I have PC Suite installed, but used it only once for testing. I normally use only m-Router to connect BT serial port, file transfer either direct (PC to phone via "Send") or with Desktop File Manager. Besides, the clock in the PC is auto-synced with atomic time ecery time i go online, it's always correct. So it must be something different......

    Kind regards.....

    your Thanh

    Hi Thanh!

I just connected using m-Router without using PC Suite & it still synchronises with the PC time. I know yor PC is synchronised itself, but do you connect with *any* other PCs/devices that may be synchronising with your phone? The fact that your phone always sets to the same time suggests that it is synchronising with something else.

Keep us posted, it's a curious problem!!

must be network... but w/o time update?

    Hello

Thank you both for replying I believe it must have to do with the network then, because the only other device i am in "contact" with is my boyfriend's phone when we play games together or exchange pictures. And as mentioned, it happened already with the phone i used before this one, which had a similar setup application wise. It was of course running with the same SIM on the same network.

I just tried it, had it connected with the PC (PC Suite!) and the time did NOT change in the phone. Let's see later, it is (yet) still correct but also since my last time setting i haven't been using GPRS and right now the GPRS seems to be down, can't connect.

But.... "auto time update" is off, so how can it be anyway?

    Kind regards........

    your Thanh
