I'm not too sure i'm posting this in right place, if not just move the thread
Ok guys I bought a car recently and found on old car kit for a phone in the car.
I have a Nokai 6260 phone now the cradle of the car kit is gone, but the wires that were connected to the back of it has been cut and is just sitting there waiting to connect to.
So it has 8 wires I meaured voltage and oms rating on them and figured some things out.
Wires:
Orange 3.5v - assuming this is charge wire
Green 0 ohms - earth/ground
Yellow 12v - assuming this is transformer output (just in case you need 12v output)
Now the following wire I'm not sure of but there is no voltage on the line or any readings
Red - speaker/mic pair
Black -
Blue - speaker/mic pair
White -
Pink - control wire that tells kit phone is connected.
Now assuming this is true could I connect these wires to a pop port connection for DCT4 and have the car kit work?
I was talking to a phone retailer who said it wouldn't be possible because the phone needed to be put in car kit mode and this invloved a series of resistors. I was thinking, if it registered as a headset would it do the same job? If so what would need to be sent down the control line to resgister it.
Thanks in advance
Will
