Let me start by saying hi to all on this site from Colorado. I've been an exclusive dealer for 12 years. I am known around here as "Mr. Nokia"; but judging by some of the posts on this site, I have a lot to learn. I do a lot of refurbishing AT&T and Cingular Nokias; trying to keep customers on their AT&T plans(theyre much better) and was still activating new AT&T until the 1st of this month. Most of them are unlocked by me. My current favorite is the Nokia 6230. I traded out my 6620 because it didnt have the stereo MP3 player the 6230 has; but it did have the best reception of any GSM Nokia in any of my field tests. But I need dont need the extra weight of an MPS when I'm skiing, so I opted for the 6230. The first thing I noticed is the MP3 Ringtones can not be seperate for each caller as with the 6620. Albeit, a picture of the caller is available. Am I missing something? I s this possible on the 6230? Secondly, I loaded a 1 gig mmc and wanted to know what the smallest size file I can use while still maintaning a decent sound. Also, is there away to hook up a amp of sorts to make it louder? Its a little low while riding my bike. And as far as bluetooth goes, I use a Cardo Scala because one of my "Techy" customers tried every one and said it was the best; is it? In the begining it worked perfectly with my voice activation. But if I used it too soon after activating it it would say "Contacts Not Ready"; but after a minute or so it would work. Now, it says that all the time! I called Nokia and they said it was a software problem and that I should send it in. Anyone else hear of this? I want to start Hard unlocking some Nokia's and all Motorola's is there a machine that does both effectively? What is the most economical way i can offer this service which box,or boxes, are the best. I may be able to offer some help to this board for US stuff because I've been in this racket so long; hell, I even still have some 3 watts, bricks, and a 9th edition NAMFAX! Thanx in advance to anyone who helps.
Nokias Ive owned: 2120, 6162(a great phone), 8860(maybe the worst Nokia ever; what were they thinking with that real chrome exterrior?
)6360(maybe Nokias best all around phone ever! I'm still using mine on my TDMA line!) 6010, 6620(Best signal stregnth available now!), and 6230.
