Angry can I unlock this 1100

ok I'm kinda new with gsm phones. but I have tried using the unlock code for this phone (exactly as stated) this phone wont let me enter the last # .
It will let me enter any other digit P,W or + but not # has anyone ever seen this with an 1100 or any other nokia? and there is no error message because I can't enter that last #.

Are you sure you are entering the code correctly? I suspect you are typing one digit in excess somewhere in the chain, this it won't let you enter anymore digits...

    Check that out

And, if it persists, post again, because it's strange!

    first problem solved

    Thanks,
It says lock 1 was opened but how can I tell what locks are closed? I've tried #pw+1234567890+2# which gives me no info. I suspect lock 2 is closed judging from the sony t226 I just had unlocked, does anyone know how to find out and which code in the list to use?
Thank you very much for your help.

The easiest way is trying to use another sim card. It's almost not possible to know, without the adequate hardware chich locks have been used. Anyways, you tried code one and I guess it said "sim resriction off". Now try another sim. If it prompts you for a code instead of registering in the network, try code 5, and lastly code 7. Those are the most commonly used locks, but it's a guessing issue.

Mostly, thanks to the contribution of the users who post results we can keep a track of which GEN/locks are used by each provider. You understand that this is, of course, a very incomplete job, as we need the input of users. So, there are a lot of provider that we can 'guess' which locks they've used. For example, like two years ago almost all providers used only code seven except US providers which used code 1.

That said, if you entered a code and you got the phone restriction off message, it's a good thing beause it means that you have the correct set of codes. If there's another lock, it will be opened with another code from the same set.

So, the best that you can do is trying another sim, a not accepted one. If everything went fine, it'll work. If your provider used more than one lock, another code from the same set that you got the first, mostly common code 5 or 7 will finish the job.

Of course, with the appropiate hardware you can know this, but that hardware is usually used only by pro techs, not by users, because it's rather expensive just for playing around (like 400 Euro for a Griffin Platinum).

I hope that explained a little the locks issue.
