1100 Charging Problem...Pls. Share ur thoughts..

    Hi Masters,

Could you kindly give me a solution of 1100 charging problem. I have been compelled to return back 3 sets to the customers. I did everything what was needed. Didn't change any IC. But still the same problem persists.

If anybody knows something about this problem then pls.share it to overcome the problem.

    Thanks in advance,

OK, here we go with the repair of an 1100 "Not Charging"...

if your phone is not displaying anything when you plug in your charger, and is not making any "beeps" at all then this is what to do...

    1. First of all, check that the power outlet you have your charger in is switched on (sorry but some people forget!)

    2. Next, check that the charger your using is working, try another phone in it and see if it charges!!

    3. Next we must open the phone and begin the real work!!

    4. Make sure that the Pads that connect the Charging Socket to the PCB are clean and not liquid damaged. If they are, then clean them with alcohol and a stiff brush. If the Charging Socket itself is damaged then replace it.

    5. SEE FIG1... The components circled in Red in FIG1 are the Charging Components, they consist of a Fuse, Zener Diode, Inductor (Coil) and a Decoupling Capacitor. After this the Charging line proceeds to the UEM. SEE FIG2.

    6. Check the Resistance of the Fuse (F100) with a Multimeter, if almost Zero then the Fuse is OK, if "Open Circuit" then relpace the Fuse and test the phone.

    7. Next, Check the rest of the components in the Line. The Inductor (Coil) should read nearly Zero Ohms when measured and SHOULD NOT read Zero Ohms between itself and Gnd. The Capacitor should NOT read Zero Ohms.

    8. If all these tests pass then the problem almost certainly lies with the UEM. If you want to attempt to replace it, then there are guides out there for you, I wont cover it here...

I hope your phone is now working!! Remember that when your Phone displays "Not Charging" then that is a different fault totally and requires a different approach!!
