PLEASE HELP ME... nokia ringing sound gone!

first... i thank you for taking the time in reading this.

i dropped my phone, nokia 3220 yesterday and after that the ringing doesn't work. it wasn't a very height drop so... 1 foot only maybe. i can hear the sound from the dialpad, i can make calls and answer calls fine, but when someone calls me the phone doesn't ring! the light flashes on the phone and it vibrates, but not sound.

i tried switching tone settings, raising it all the way up, turning the phone to silent, turning it back to normal, i took the battery out for 5 hours, i tried a different battery, then i decided to go into the settings and reset the phone to factory settings! still nothing... everything on the phone works except the ringing tone.

does anyone know what happened? or how can i fix this? how come i can hear the sound when i press the dialpad and not the ringing? doesn't ALL the sounds come from one speaker?

the only thing i did not try was to load other kinds of ringing tones into my phone because i don't have the data cable. but this is strange. i would appreciate if anyone knows how i can fix this, please? thank you again.

hi mate,

first get a t6 screw, disassemble you phone.. try to clean the two connectors of your buzzer . . . try to clean the interface of the buzzer connector . . it might just losse is connection when you drop it. . . try to see some probs try some cracks or whatever unussual . .assemble it tight then test it . . it works if your buzzer stil no buz out . .

thank you for the diagram of the nokia 3220 as well for your guys responses but the problem is that i am not really that great in taking things apart and putting them back together. i totally suck at it

i guess i can give it a try but... not sure what will happen. any other ideas to what i can do or is this pretty much it? is taking the phone apart and looking inside the only thing i have left to try?

i can't try any flashing/reseting with a data cable because i don't have one... but i am guessing this has nothign to do with the firmware/software anyways, this is probably a hardware issue. what do you guys think?

bcatlock, on that diagram, can you show me where exactly i should go? thank you.

here you go, i attached an image file dicdating the buzzer interface, just dont mess up the other parts of the pcb, if you have a 70% alcohol and a cotton buds you can use it to clean the interface with the alcohol then let i dry up for quite a lil time, then dry clean it up with dry cotton, and try to clean the two round pins of the buzzer at the opposite the direction of its interface, hope it would help.. . . try it . .
