completely dead 6210 - flash memory problems

    Hi,

on my experimental 6210 phone, I have the following problem: the whole flash memory area from 200000 to 600000 contains the value 0xFF. if I want to erase the whole flash, I get an error that the return value is wrong. if I want to write into the flash memory (completely virgin 6210 backup image), this won´t work either because the erase procedure doesn´t work. does anyone have a hint on how to force a flash update into the phone and what software to use for that? I have a Dejan Flasher Cable, FBUS/MBUS cable and knok, rolis flasher and several other tools.

    Thanks for any help
    Archer

I had several problems with 6150 and rolis 4.78b. All was ok from 200000 to 3A1000 but after that came "flash erase error" (many times). I think the possibly reason for that may be with connections or low voltage given by LPT port. Anyway... I couldn't flash without errors even i repaired my cable with external power. I used XPMobile to erase whole flash and after that i reflashed with "don't erase before write" option checked. Try different combinations...

Tip!!! If your phone don't wake after failed flash, connect charger to phone when asked to "power on" phone.

trying different things now... knok debug messages:

    FLS1_GetFlashParameters : parameters found NPE-3(6210) - DCT3BT2.TIA
    FLS1_PreparePhone : found flashing params NPE-3(0) - 61, 07
    FLS1_ConfigurateBootstrapDCT3 : checksum is 4E8B
FLE5_DirectInitialiseBootstrapDCT3 : Press power on (if needed)
    FLE5_DirectInitialiseBootstrapDCT3 : executing bootstrap
FLE5_DirectInitialiseBootstrapDCT3 : preparing reading phone RAM
FLE5_DirectInitialiseBootstrapDCT3 : executing reading phone RAM
    FLS1_GeneralReceiveConfigurationResponseDCT3 : checksum error
    Cannot prepare phone

full erase with XPMobile doesn´t work, or maybe I have a bad version? Someone here with a pointer do download location?

Try rolis 4.78 flasher by increasing the LPT delay index on Options->Setup->Others.

If you are still having problems try Dark flasher as some times you need to go back to the old school flasher to fix problems.

actually, a by-the-way idea: which mode should I set my LPT to via BIOS?

    EPP or ECP

    ok... try this solution.
    1) please erase whole flash your 6210 with knok 1a and prepaire a good flash - full flash
    2) write flash with rolis.
    3) clear sp lock
    4) update faid - sfr-done

I have noticed that after failed flashing xpmobile (or knok) shows "cannot prepare phone" error. (I have WinXP + userport) After rebooting it's working again.
