Animated Screensaver

I am using PsiNT Screensaver but when I use an animated gif as my screensaver the phones battery will only last 10 hrs on standby and a hell of a lot less if used.
Is this normal?

yeah it seems to be, unfortunatly

the gif screensaver seems to keep the phone "active" therefore kills the batts

My advice is to use the sleep function

not true. its wrong. not right. what else? hehe. well, it doesnt matter whether you're using animated gif/ normal gif as your screensaver it uses the same battery like that of a normal screensaver clock and time. why? its because the light is off.. to make it simpler, think of a computer, if your screen shows blank and your screen shows a lot of pix and is moving it consumes same amount of energy! but sure sleep mode will help, but about the gif/animated gif? nah. that's all.

well kiddomark, i wouldn't be too sure about that. for the cpu cannot go to sleep mode as long as the phone is showing gifs. for sure, the cpu doesn't use much energy, but if it's running for 10 hours maybe thats too much for the small 750 mAh battery. Anyway, did someone of you test the no-name batteries with 1000 mAh? Are they worth the money?

yeah yeah yeah whatever.

just think, the default screensaver of your phone doesnt use sleep mode as well! so there is no difference if you use the default screensaver with the screensaver that uses gif files. that's the argument here. got it? i hope you did.

and just like what i said, SURE sleep mode will help save the battery.

but comparing using gif screensaver with the default screensaver, it consumes THE SAME POWER.

1. does the sleep mode consume less energy than having it on stand-by?

2. does animated gif wallpaper consume more energy than the the normal jpeg wallpaper?

3. so gifs(set as animated wheteher it be as a wallpaper or screensaver) and jpeg consume the same energy?




BATT LIFE:
my batt only lasts me for 1 day(i rarely use the damn thing)! is this normal? how long does your batt last?

Yes mine too,even with 1000 mA battery.It keeps 15 hours.
