Thread: Connecting flash cable?

  1. #1

    Question Connecting flash cable?

Okay guys here's the low down.

I have a Flash cable connected to the ONLY LPT port on my computer. connected to a 3330 NHM-6 4.16

No program recognises my Flash cable. My cable is a manual switch between flash and data (you have to remove the parts,) it is brand new and looks good quality from reputable supplier. I know the phone end works (and the data cable) but there is no way of checking if the LPT connector does..

I think as it's a brand new cable it is more likely to be a misconfigured LPT port, or my USB printer somehow hogging the ports.. Don't exactly know.. but I'd like any feedback or things to try? somebody must have the answer...

*please be as obvious as possible when posting a reply.. Although I am knowledgable with computers, others reading this may have a hard time understanding reconfiguring things..

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP GUYS...

Hmm.. Problem was that there was nothing showing on the LPT1 slot in Device manager. Found a walk-around, by installing a generic Printer driver and then configuring it to specs as above.

Then found that the software recognised my phone..

I think the most important thing tho, was that I totally didn't read anywhere that I had to turn my phone on DURING the process of reading flash. obviously it makes sense now and I feel like an idiot.. but for other newbies..

MOST FLASHING PROGRAMS REQUIRE YOU TO START WITH PHONE OFF THEN TURN ON DURING PROCESS...

    hehe. Thanks ..
