Thread: eeprom address??

    eeprom address??

I had read in many places that 51xx models have separate EEPROM chip (with about 16 Kb) to hold NAM/user settings... How can I access it? Is a dejan flasher cable enough? Does anybody knows which addr I must seek? It's certainly not between 0x0 & 0x500000

It really is a separate chip and you can't access it with dejan cable. You have to desolder the whole chip (or use special type SOIC clip) if you want to reprogram it... You can use pony programmer and this kind of cable:

    Cool, thanx!!!
Well, I discovered that NokiaSOC2 could be used to read/write EEPROM through Mbus cable without desoldering, I built myself such a cable, played a lot with it but shit happened and now my phone doesn't even turn on (it seems that EEPROM was completely erased). So that's the good time to use PonyProg
I was browsing at it's site and found a lot simplier parallel port cable, I'm sending it attached... Do you think it's enough for me to write backup on my f*cked EEPROM?

After a short check your cable seems to be nearly same as mine but without external power supply... (May cause some problems with stability...)

ehhehehe, well... when I need 5V or 12V DC I pull them from my ATX power supply
