signal faeds in and out

Hi,

I have a Nokia 3310, it hasn't been flashed, but the signal seems to fade in and out. Sometimes it shows full signal strength, but when I tyr and make a call, I lose the netowrk. Any ideas on how to remedy this ?

Try to change the rf! Or flash it and update faid possibly this works!!

How do I change the RF ?

I have a MBUS cable, should I flash to a 3315 ?

If the phone is turned on, then shows that network is OK, after a while it goes down, then sometimes OK....

Your problem is "RF Power Amplifier" you need to replace/resolder/reheat that stuff!

Use a Fine Tip soldering station or a Hot Air soldering station, do not use an ordinary soldering gun or soldering iron, coz it might damage you phone's pcb!

You can find a replacement for that on the net, or on your local cellphone repair center...

Thanks Emul8d, the phone is useless, so I will give that a try. I found a PCB layout for a 3310 off one of the other pages. That will identify the RF PA.

Is it worth upgrading it to a 3315?
