8210 Strange text message cannot delete!

Hi all,
I have an 8210 on the Virgin network which has received two text messages. The message shows >pers
When I choose READ, it says MESSAGE DELETED, but it is still there!!! it wont open or delete!!
Any ideas??

try taking the batt out. and sim card then switch on again i had the same thing and eventually the mesage disapeared.

They're service messages from the network!
They update preset numbers, etc that are stored on fone memory!
