    cs8210

    hi......

i got a 8210 with contact service displaying when switched on.

checked using noktool, cobba id displays as zeros only .
does this mean the cobba chip is bad and needs replacement ?
is this a simple procedure or better to send it to a proper service centre?

appreciate ur help , tq .

    Download eeprom tools,
then open it up, connect your phone, turn it on.
Then click on test in eeprom tools this will then tell you the reason for the 'contact service'

Most of the time it is a checksum error, which can be solved with a reflash!

If it says eeprom checksum error just reset the IMEI and that will solve the problem!

i did as danwood suggested ..........eeprom tools test says cobba parallel failed .

so i guess this requires a cobba ic replacement right ?
from what i've read so far , i'll need some special soldering & heat gun equipment which i dont have .
guess this phone'll be dead for awhile .

    anyway thanks a lot guys!!
