Soak the phone in methelated spirits for half an hour, then get a tooth brush and some fairy washing up liquid, put the washing up liquid in a bowl with some water and scrub both sides of the board for about 10 mins per side!
Then rinse under a cold tap!
Use a hair dryer highest heat setting lowest blow power and go up and down each side, then leave the hair dryer blowing over the top of the pcb for about 5-10 mins!

This will remove any corrosion and dirt on the pcb and will hopefully fix the problem!
You may need to do a reflash, try one from a working phone!

Do as danwood says, but you can also use isopropanol to clean the pcb as well. This has a good success rate for me.You can buy it from any pharmacy.

It's the meths that did all the work! It's better to get some isopropenol, because you can also use it to fine clean the pcb with a cotton bud as opposed to dipping the whole board! I also use the liquid that comes with vcr\cd\fdd cleaning tapes! This stuff is great for cleaning the contacts!!!
A friend will bail you out of jail! A true friend will be in the cell with you saying " Shit, we really fucked up this time!!!"
