    3330 Ring/vibra Problem

Hi all,I have a 3330 which was liquid damaged. The vibra motor keeps vibrating but no ringtone.I cleaned with isopropanol and cleaned the track with a fiber pen.I reflashed as normal, but now it still has the same problem and also now i have no signal.
Any help on this one please guys.
    Regards.

Ok, try to address the problem as a whole rather then bit by bit!!! Try this...

Submerge the board in the meths with the RF shields taken off, for 20 mins! After that take it out and run under a cold tap, then using a bowl full of water with washing up liquid scrub the board firmly but carefully with a tooth brush! Go in all directions! You should scrub on both sides for a total of about 10 mins! Run under tap again thoroughly, and using a hair dryer, set it to the lowest blow mode, but highest heat! slowly run the air over the board twice each side! when thats done, lie the hardryer down and lie the board down flat with the RF shield side up! Allow the hot air to blow OVER the board not directly at it for a further 7-8mins! Allow to cool for 15mins and try it in the phone! Don't forget to replace the RF Shields if it works!!!

This method is quite sucsessful in repairing most problems associated with water damage!!!

Hi chunkhead,Tried the meths, method and now it is totaly f#*ked. The phone won't even turn on.It now says bad ram or pre- loader init; error if you try to reflash.I am at a dead end now.
What's the next step? Is it the depth of the big bad mobile phone bin of bits?
    Regards.

Don't worry! This has happened to me before, and it's not the fault of the meths! Change the delay index to 3 in Rolis! If still no luck, try 4 then 5! Use to the charger to power on and if that does nothing, with charger still plugged in, press the power button! Persistence in this matter is the key! I don't know why it does this, but I've pulled 3 out of 3, from the jaws of Nokia heaven!!!

I had a phone with same problem. What i did was, I removed the whole RF shield FRAME (Not the cover. the metal frame which fits into the shield cover) from the phone. And did it as Chunkhead's way.
    * After that I paste lot of FLUX on most parts and reflow most parts (almost everywhere) by Hot Air station.

    * Falsh a Full Flash file.

    Now I got a 100% working Phone.

Sorry chunkhead!!!!It had to happen.I don't quite know how it happened but the phone left my right hand at about 70 mph hit the wall and then bounced onto the floor at great speed. There was parts of 3310 every where.Oh well it's totaly fu@ked now,but it is amazing how much better i feel inside. The stress has gone, the late nights trying to repair the bas*@rd thing has gone and now the 3310 has gone.
Thanks for all your help anyway.
    All the best.

That's a damn shame! NokiaFREE should have a phone rights activist group or something!
I've been close to that myself, but I just place it away neatly in a drawer and repair it at a later time! I have an unusually high success rate! Or you could have used it for parts!?
