Got a cable to unlock mates a300e - its not genuine samsung cable tho and has a red and black wire with clips on at the end - can someone tell me how to connect this - the obvious bit that goes into the phone but where do the + and - wires go? anyone recommend software too to unlock it (need to go from orange to voda). Complete newbie here, but I love a challenge!

Its for a 9 volt battery. Type 6LR61/MN1604 black on the negtive (-) and red on the postive (+)

Thanks mate. But when I connect the clips to the battery then plug into the phone it still wont power up - any ideas? Powers up fine without the cable attached and asks for unlock code. I take it the phone must be on for the unlock prog to recognise it?

Not with all software I use this one (attached) the phone is off and connected to the PC I just select the model and tick unlock and reset sec code then click do jobs and wait a few secs and it done.
