    Talking Woo Hoo - Success

My first ever flash - and my first ever success - sort of!!! I flashed my 8210 with a million different mcu and ppm files and virgin eeproms. It wasn't until I flashed a decent eeprom that the phone worked. Now my problem is that when I turn it on (with the sim card in it) it comes up "Sim Card not Accepted". I have tried updating FAID, changing IMEI and unlocking SP locks but neither Knok95 nor Rolis will read the phone with MBUS cable (I am running Windows XP). The cable is a MBUS/FBUS combo. I think the cable is OK because Nokia Logo Manager will read the phone info. I have tried userport but no joy. Any suggestions? A very big thank you to all, especially Chunkhead!!!!

Windows XP will give you every error under the sun for running M\Fbus applications! Use Win98\ME!

    P.S Knok95 is best!
A friend will bail you out of jail! A true friend will be in the cell with you saying " Shit, we really fucked up this time!!!"

    XP is best!

    Hi
I am using XP and quite a lot of m/f-bus apps... no problems whatsoever. Maybe it depends on the hardware (plenty RAM, 512 megs here)..?
Win 9x sucks sh!t, i would never use it again. ME is worst even.

Besides, "can't read the phone" could be a different problem. "Sim card not accepted" means the phone is SIM-locked, and needs to be unlocked.
One of the apps (Rolis? not sure) got a nice feature "auto detect connection" or similar, a button that looks like a ladybug. This app can also unlock via m/f-bus, if i am not wrong. But in the end, i recomment a manual switching cable and trying both in m-bus and f-bus setting. Also, possibly, the COM port is the wrong one (application looks on COM 1 but cable sits in COM 2).
    Hope i could help.....
    Your Thanh

    unlock

It just needs unlocking, the sim error means its not unlocked, use rolis next time to unlock it.
