    Unlock my 6310i

Please help me unlock my new Nokia so that I can use different SIM chips in my visits to Europe. Should I remove the SIM before attempting to unlock and is it true that I only have 5 chances? Thank you

    Phone: Nokia 6310i
    Network: USA - AT&T Wireless
    IMEI: 350997200664095

    Hello,

Yes, remove the sim before entering codes, and yes, you only get five tries.

    Try this code :

    #pw+159204073774702+7#

    try it once only.
    Post results.

    Good luck

    RE Try this code

Thanks for the quick reply and pardon my unfamiliarity with these matters....

Am I correct that the "pw" in "#pw+15920......" is the Security Code? I just got this phone and haven't set any Security settings on it. The Nokia manual refers to a default code of "12345". I tried this, removing the SIM first, but after entering the final character, ("#"), nothing happened. Is this the correct one to use, or would AT & T Wireless have programmed a different one? Alternately, could my phone already be unlocked? How to check?

Sorry for the lengthy tutorial request, with only 5 attempts (maybe only 4 left now), I want to get it right.

    no problem

no, pw is not security code

    just look

you press #-key, then you press *-key 3 times (you get p, then you press *-key 4 times (you get w), then you press *-key 2 times (you get +) and so on...
