    Need Help

I am so glad to find so many experts here. I don't know much about cell phone and I brought a Nokia 8250 from Taiwan to US.

I put my card from my T-mobile phone into the 8250 but it won't work.

Is it because it is a Taiwan phone? Is there anyway to change it or unlock it?

Thanks for any help in advance.

i´m not shure but i think the gsm phone frequencys that both countrys use are differents.for example the frequencys of europe are different of the american continent so we european cant use our phones in there ,us.but if the phone is able to work we have i think 3 nivels of frequency´s like 900mhz/ 1800mhz and to work in us need´s 1900mhz frequency i think i´m correct , if not please someone correct me . in your case you have nokia phones there in us but are phone´s made just for your frequency/network/operator and metodhts of payment i think

but we have european models there works in us like motorola v,some nokia models i think .
well i hope i´m usufull for you & and please if something i said it´s wrong please correct so i´m still learning all the time
stay cool and hug´s to everyone

Taiwan is on the 900-1800Mhz frequency, whereas the U.S is on 1900Mhz! Sorry, but you got screwed! Might as well of bought a brick!? But that would of been more use! Try sell it on ebay!
A friend will bail you out of jail! A true friend will be in the cell with you saying " Shit, we really fucked up this time!!!"

i had this problem. its because the t-mobile sim card using sim compression (extra phone book etc) and encounters difficulties when receiving network signals. i can confirm that VODAFONE and ORANGE sim cards work perfectly. however if you receive a voicemail you will get a text msg instead saying
