how long does a sim last????

hiya guys.
how long does a pay as you go sim card last?
ive got a vodafone sim card that i havent used for about 2 years and ive just gone to use it and it says number not in use.
if i put credit into it will it sort this problem out ? or do i need a new sim card?
i ask these questions because i dont want to put credit into it incase it doesnt work and i lose my credit.

The SIM itself will last a relatively long time, however most companies delete phone numbers from their system after about 3 months of inactivity. (Or 6 months...)

I don't think that crediting the phone will reenable the number, someelse should probably comment on that .

But overall, I think the phone number has been deleted for good, buy another SIM probably

contact the network and see if they will reconnect the number for you.

done that matey and they was very very helpful.
vodafone can reconnect my sim between 1-2 months,bloody unreal they are .


i think i might have sorted my little problem out anyway now but a big thanks for all the help.
