    other phones, too

    Hi there
The battery standby time (time the phone stays "on" and connetced to a network without actually being used for calls, SMS, games etc) is dependent on MANY factors, and may vary greatly.
To determine your true standby time, use a SIM card which nobody knows the number of. Discharge your battery untill the phone turns itself off, then connect the charger (keep phone OFF!) and let it charge for at least five hours. The phone has a "maintenance charge" functions that works only when it is OFF! The turn the phone ON and start a stopwatch, or better, note the exact time of the moment you turned it on.
Place the phone somewhere and make sure it does NOT GET MOVED AT ALL for all the time from now on. Keep it sitting there, and check the battery graphs some time. Keep it sitting there untill it again turns itself off due to a totally flat battery, and note the time when it will happen. Voila, you now got the "pure standby time", and i am VERY sure that will be way more than 48 hours.
If you repeat this very time consuming test by using another SIM card, you may find that you now get a different standby time, which could be MUCH shorter or longer.
The standby time is dependend on the network the phone is connected to, how often the BTS queries the phone (and the phone has to "answer" to the BTS, hence sending some data) and the signal strength, hence power used when "answering" the BTS's call. This happening can be checked by placing the phone near to a radio...... some time you will hear the typical "GSM sound" from the radio, that is, when the phone "catches net" or "answers a BTS call". The more often that happens, the lower the standby time. This is alone dependent on the network.
TALKTIME, that is, when you as above fully charged the battery and then immediately initiate a call, and keeping this connection on untill the phone shuts down due to a flat battery. Be sure that during this time you indeed keep the phone sending, such as when you talk, or place it near a music source. You may notice, that, if you repeat this test with another SIM, you most likely get the same, or almost-same, result. It here doesn't even make much difference if you use a 900 or 1800 MHz network.
OPERATING TIME is now a mix of the above, meaning, the time you can normal oerate a phone. Being on standby, receiving or dialling calls, sending SMS, playing game or listen to the radio etc. The more you play games (JAVA games force high CPU loads, and that is a killer for batteries! If you play a game for a while, you may find out that the battery actually gets warm because of that). The radio itself, if played thru the headset, does not consume much, playing it thru the speaker needs much more power.
You accumulated a time (operating time?) of 48 hours, so i guess you play games a lot, right? The Nokia's details on times (150-300 hours, taht is a 100% different, see?) are for "pure standby" as mentioned above, and the talktime estimates normally come close to the reality, often even better than those.
I can give you "live" results from my tests with a 6610 (sorry, not a 5100 but not too different as both have colour screens). My "pure standby" in a GSM 1800 network adds up to 164 hours, with a GSM 900 network it was 210 hours.
The talktime in GSM 1800 i got 4:19 hours, in GSM 900 4:26 hours. Talktime (GSM 1800) with all-time loudspeaker mode (full volume!) got me to 3:20 hours and the battery wasn't flat then! That was not a test, but a forced, "real life" situation.
Now i have never tested the radio playtime or game playtime, as those are unnecessary for me..... i did those tests after my first battery died and i got a new one, i did those tests after the battery was "run in" for a while. The real life operating times vary greaty for me, depending on how many calls i get or make, and if i sit in traffic jams a lot, using the games
The SIM-CLOCK STOP feature is supported by every phone, but not by every SIM card! This feature is nothing that you can turn on or turn off, the code *sim0clock# (*746025625#) only enables you to check wether your SIM does support it, if so, the phone uses it automatically. This feature only stops the SIM processor's "clock" when the phone is OFF, thus saving a fraction of battery power in OFF mode.
About "vibra in games", check the games settings... if there is a feature "shakes" or "vibra", simply turn this "ON". If the game then supports it (most games don't!) it will work, but the game itself might have an extra setting for this! Check each game's "options" for the above, "shakes" or "vibra".

I hope i could help you a little bit...... even tough i have the "wrong phone" in my hand
    Kind regards....
    your Thanh
