Got me a 3410 today, brand spanking new. Firstly impressed by the automatic keyguard feature and then similarly the security-code-on-unlocking feature (ideal to stop my mates getting in, so I thought).
After doing this than and the other, I get around to changing my security code. I enter the pre-set 12345, and it asks me to enter a new one. So I do, and enter it again when asked to verfiy it. I go back out, lock keypad, come back in, it prompts for the code, I enter my new one, all is fine. 3 times that code worked. Then it locked, and the code didn't work. Same one I'd done 3 times before without problem. None of it's obvious typo's worked (even though the chance of me typo'ing the same key 3 times in a row beforehand are close to none), and neither did 12345. So I removed the battery manually, re-inserted it, and got back in - but I cannot change the security code as I can't confirm the current one - again, none of the obvious numbers work. So right now I have a nice new 3410 that I can't lock the keypad on, as if I do I cannot enter the code to unlock it (and I can't stop it asking for a code because - hey - I need the code to do that). I also cannot go back to factory defaults, as again I need the code to do that. Is this a known fault? Do I have a faulty model? Is there a number to ring for this stuff? Can I get round it?
Any help, much appreciated!
