Thread: N-gage sound quality?

  1. #1

    Exclamation N-gage sound quality?

My N-gage emits popping and hissing sounds through the earphones when playing MP3s/AACs. I ran the songs in 128kbps and i did not turn the volume pretty high neither did i not plug the earphone fully into the plug. I used the LAME encoder the encode MP3s from CDs. Tried everything i could but still cant find a solution to this problem. Pls help!! Thanks

heres an idea, what i normally do when converting some MP3's to wav (low quality for my old 7650) i use COOL EDIT PRO to edit the song

if u download the program and find a cr*ck some where on the web(i found it but i dont remember where) then i can guide you through getting rid of the hissing and popping

I tried using Goldwave Editor but it was of no use. Hissing and popping can be heard mainly during insane and extreme parts of rock/pop music and it really irritates me. I tired different encoders and tried the nokia audio manger to convert CDs into AACs but still hissing and popping can be heard. The Franhofer encoder did reduce some of the hissing and popping but not completely. My CDs are original so i dont undersatnd why this can happen. Any N-gagers suffers from this?

why encode? get songs downloaded into your pc. I'm sure irc have such channel that lets you download the song you desire into your pc.

well at least i'm doing that.
    and it works well.

Sounds like theres a fly in your soup(sorry couldnt resist).Seriously though once liquid has got onto the circuitry it forms chalky deposits that allow electrical signals to jump acrossed the deposits.i think this would be your problem. If you feel brave enough take your n-gage apart and brush of the printed circuit board with a stiff clean paint brush whilst having a good look for any chalky looking dust betweem the components. Also get yourself a can of electrical contact cleaner from an electrial component store and check there is no gunky soup up your internal headphone jacks before you take her apart.Good luck.
what was that you were saying about the MMC?

Try lowering the bitrate of the mp3 file to 96kbps, instead of the normal 128kbps.

Lowering it resuls in even more hissng and poorer quality.. Maybe its only mine.
