Is my Nokia 6340i (Cingular) data locked or ...?

Even after inserting the correct restriction code, my Nokia 6340i (Cingular) is not being able to find any Network here in India. How can I use it by inserting a Hutch ([url]www.hutch.co.in[/url]) SIM Card here?

The IMEI No. is 010144/50/020393/4

Is this set still data locked, or anything else?

Please help me.

you see Your Nokia 6340
is a USA fone
Uses 1900 as band
and in India
it 900 1800
so you fone wont work
sorry about that you had to get a tri band fone for that to be able to work

Its not easy to accept that my Nokia 6340i can not work in Indian network systems. Still, thank you for your categorical reply.

go to Nokia web site and se its details and see wat i meen

I believed what you said. Spent hours surfing [url]www.hutch.co.in[/url] & [url]www.cellular-news.com[/url] & [url]www.bitpipe.com[/url] but could not find the specifications of GSM in India.
