    nokia 3510i java game installation

Hi all, hopefully someone can answer my question !!

I used to ring expensive fonelines to buy games for my nokia 3510i, until I realised I could just put games, pics and ringtones on my personal site and download to my fone that way, saving my landline bill !!

what I'm stuck on is this...

Java games usually come zipped, containing 2 similar files, one ending in .jar and one ending .jad
Ive tried downloading both, and always getting 'unknown file format'

Can someone please explain the method for installing java games onto a 3510i please, I'd really appreciate it !!

    Many thanks in advance :0)

I presume you are downloading the zip file (with the jar and jad file inside) to your PC. If so, then you'll need to get a data cable for the 3510i (or 3510 or 3595(US version of 3510i?)). They can be got online, just do a search in google (keywords: 3510i + data + cable), or get it on eBya, which is probably the cheapest way, if you're into eBay.

Next you'll need software to interface between the PC and the phone through the cable. MobiMB and Oxygen Manager seem to be the most common, I only use mobiMB, but I know you can do all sorts of extras with Oxygen manager, like backing up phonebooks, messages, etc. With MobiMB you can transfer mainly java games, ringtones, and backgrounds. All software you'll need can be gotten from Farshes site (look for the post in this forum with a few hundred replies and a few thousand views - sticks out a mile and always near the top).

Then you'll need to connect the cable to the PC, then the phone to the cable, install the software, turn on your phone, download some jad/jar files (you'll need both), and, for example, when running MobiMB, you just drag and drop the jad file from Windows Explorer into MobiMB, and the file should transfer.

Anyway, this is the bare minimum. Get the cable, get the software, get the files, connect it all up, and if you have any problems, post again.

Just upload the jar file to your webspace and put the link to it in your phone to download the file. Works for me.

For uploading stuff I use OxygenPhoneManager and data cable.

It's not very hard to do!

    Good Luck!
