    8210 Microphone dead

    Hi

Ive changed the mic, taken the phone apart and cleaned contacts and given it the chunkhead treatment (usualy helps me out) but still the fault remains. If I use the headset all is OK though. can someone please tell me if its possible to link the mic (tested on another 8210) to one of the headset pic ups without it going to the headset profile, or better yet a link to another part of the board for the main mic.

    Cheers

    Nokia 8210 Mic Problem

    Hi all.

I dropped my 8210 today , and have since realised that my mic isn't working. I have taken the phone apart, removed the mic and readjusted the contacts, but to no avail . I have found that if i squeeze the body of the phone in certain places, it will 'VERY OCCAISIONALLY' work (It happened twice) .
Does anyone know of a possible fix?
    TIA

    mic Fix

down the bottom right side of the keypad matrix there should be 3 micro components (2 capacitors and 1 resistor) off the top of my head,i have known these components to become dry joint or even come off the pcb, if you check the service manual it is an easy fix to replace these components, all you need is a steady hand and a .1mm tip.
    Good luck.
sorry i have not gone into much detail for i am on the beach on my holidays. =)
good luck, email me if u need tech support regarding this problem i can help further in another week.
