New Ribbon, No Card!

Hi,

New to this forum, seemed liked the best place to come for advice. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but im sure you'll put me right!

I have a Nokia 7650, I snapped the ribbon cable inside and bought a new ribbon to replace it. I have re-installed the new ribbon, what I thought to be successfully. The phone turns on and appears to work, without the sim card inserted. However, when I insert the sim card (phone on or off) the phone will not turn on! This is the original sim card that came with the phone, so I cannot understand why it is not working. I then have to disconnect the cable again to reset the phone otherwise the phone won't turn on at all.

Any ideas what's up?

i also snapped the ribbon on my phone and have ben worried about fixing it.

could you please tell me how to replace it .
