Files in C:\system\install?

I know the majority of the files are small, but some are larger (around 24kb).

Just wondering what the point of these files is, surely they're already stored to the phone so there's no point in the existance of them.

They have the same name as the original installation app of their respective application?

It could be thats the phone's way of keeping track of installed programs. So when you want to uninstall a program the phone checks the corresponding file from the install folder to determine the files that should be removed.
