I hope this is the right place to post this question. I have recently purchased a second-hand USB data cable for a Nokia 6310i and although the cable and 'gizzmo' is being recognized by the computer the telephone is shown as 'not connected'

I have installed all the correct software along with the most updated drivers all to no avail. When I look inside the plug that connects into the phone the blue and white wires are soldered to three pins. Is this correct?

If I have placed this question in the wqrong location, then please accept my apologise, if not, is there anyone out there that can help.
