Help needed

Dear Sir,

I'm a final year engineering student from india .

I have to develop a software, which utilizes the Nokia network Monitor. I have make a software which logs data from two units, the GPS unit and the Mobile Unit. The software sholuld first display the exact place where we are taking the test, with the help of GPS unit and then log the values of Rxlevel, cellid, Timing advance and other network parametres.

The software should be similar to the TEMS software used by the cellular opeartors for network analysis.

I'm somewhat new to this field. I know things about the GSM architecture, Nokia network monitor, but I dont know many things about how I can extract data from the mobile . I'm using Nokia 3315 with a F+M bus cable, but i dont know how it really works.

I'd be highly grateful to you if you could guide me in my project with some valuable suggestions and help.

Look for Gnokii if using Linux any flavor, or for Gammu if your using Win32 platform. Both includes full C source-code, and protocol descriptions.

I was happy to see this post. I have been looking to develop a software that does just what you describe, record GPS fix, cellid, rssi, bcch, etc. I am not a programmer, but I have researched some mbus commands to make this work. I would like to collaborate with both of you to develop this, I have some ideas that I think would make it very useful. I only intend to use it for personal use, and not for distribution. Thank you!

I have been working on gammu . I think that i can build a GUI for the same, but i need a detail flowchart of the operation of gammu. I can build the code in VB and also interface it with a GPS unit.
can anyone help..
