    6610 Help

    Hi,

I would love it if someone could just explain a few details about a couple of things to do with my Phone. I brought the phone on a Plan with T - Mobile, in minnesota, USA. So it is locked to them.

First if I get a Dual Sim Card holder when I go home to Brisbane, Australia. I will just be able to use my Optus Pre-Paid Sim Card which I already have. How would a Dual sim Card Holder Work? It just automaticaly picks which sim network is active? Or is there a manual way to choose which sim you want to phone to use? It kinda defeits the purpose of a dual sim if you have to open the phone anyway? So I am guessing that there is some buttons that you have to press when you turn the phone on? Or hold something down to flip between them?

Second to obvisouly use the Optus SIM I need to unlock my phone to the T - Mobile Network right? Which for the T-mobile I just need to put in the number 1 code? What will happen when i do this? What should I expect to See? Anything at all?

I really want this to work because that was the reason I wanted a 6610 so I could use it on the GSM900 Network at home and the GSM1900 T-Mobile one in USA. However I am alittle worried at the idea of redering my phone useless by getting the code wrong.

If some of you guys could answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated.

    Ryan. Minnesota. USA.

The only question I can answer is about the dual sim card holder. To change between sim's all u have to do is switch the phone off then back on again, some have a little switch on the back, so u would switch the phone off, flick the switch and turn phone on again, their easy to use.

I also have T-Mobile in Minnesota and a 6610. I used the free Nokia DCT-4 unlock codes to unlock my phone (link at top of page). If you use code 1 of the unlock code, your phone will display "Sim Lock Disabled". Then you should be able to use any sim card in it. After disabling my lock, I was able to use a sim card from Taiwan in my phone with no problems and my own sim worked just like before it unlocked it. Remember you only have 5 tries to get the code right, so double check all the numbers.
