forum search function inadequate

the forum search requires at least 4 characters to do a search, but often i find myself searching for things that are 3 characters:

3310 upgrade old 513 new 547 problem

this search will not proceed. I think the logic is a little bit lame, and should be altered from:

ALL terms must be more than 4 letters long

to:

AT LEAST ONE term must be more then 4 letters

there is a logic behind this limit, because searching for words shorter than 4 characters can return a lot of results and be a heavy load on the server.

but if you want to search for a 3 characters word, you can add and asterik (*) after the word. example: instead of searching "3310 513" search for "3310 513*".
