i have a nokia 3310 most of the keys work fine but key "2" and "0" you have to press harder for them to work. is there any way of fixing this?
would the water damage method work?

No need to try that, just clean the pcb & inner pads with alcohal etc.
Post result,so others can learn, thank you.
i have cleaned the pcb and pads with alchol and the keys seem to be working a bit better but not perfect maybe i will try cleaning them again.
Change keypad membrane
no mate it would be better if u open ur fone remove the display and clean the memory pad or the silver buttons on the white paper with alcohol and scratch it lightly with rough paper or sand paper it should do the trick
(pls::: dont scratch 2 much just 3-4 times)
cheers
Hello,
Better use LACQUER THINNER (L T - use for diluting Automotive Paint) instead of ALCOHOL as it does not leave RESIDUE compared to ALCOHOL which is DILUTED with WATER.
We used it in the Philippines to CLEAN or REMOVE dirt, stain or water present on cell phone board.
Make sure you apply a combination Heat and Air to completely Dry up those areas of the Board that may have accumulated L T before assemblying and putting battery to avoid short circuit problem.
Best Regards,
