8260 won't unlock SOC

Pardon me for being a newbie, but I'm trying to get my AT&T 8260 unlocked so I can use it to replace my dying Cingular phone....

Cingular says that they will replace it, but won't break the SOC lock for me (a local independent will unlock it for $25, but I already have the data cable that fits under the battery, and thought I'd try it myself).

I run the ucables-nokia-tdma-service.exe and it claims it can read the phone, and gets V 6.12 NSW-4 , and seems happy to 'do tasks' after I hit "Set Unlock All', (it says tasks completed), then I hit 'restart phone' and it re-boots,

but going back into *3001#12345# and selecting NAM1, it still does not give me the SOC menu item (skips from menu 1 to 3)....

What am I doing wrong?

The version of nokiaSOC (I think that's what this SW is known as) is dated Dec 6, 2001, but has no version info....

That was the secret sauce.....Worked perfectly.

Followed your script, and it worked fine.

Now Cingular will program it to replace my phone with cracked LCD (it's so bad I can only see the top 2 pixel lines of the caller's name and none of their number.....kind of hard to figure out who's calling...
