Unhappy 7110 - low transmitting volume

Problem is: when I am using my phone, the person I am talking to says my voice is really quiet and they find it difficult to hear me.
I have changed the audio codec from half rate to full rate to enhanced full rate without success.
I have also upgraded the phone to the latest software version (5.01 from 4.84) but that had no effect either.
I am thinking this could be a hardware problem (e.g. bad connections with the mouthpiece to the phone PCB.)

    Can someone please help me?

    Mic Problem

    Hi Brough,

I had the same problem with my 3310, after swapping mics and upgrading firmware with no success I decided to heat the base of the board incase the problem was a dry joint on the audio ic. This solved the problem and may well be the cause of your failings.

    Hope this helps,

    Barry.

    Solution!!!!!

Hi. Thanks. I have since mended my phone by simply cleaning the metal contacts which make up the connection on the mouthpiece slider between the microphone and the motherboard.
This only applies to the 7110, and you have to take the phone apart in order to clean the sliding contacts.
