3650 where is my "lock phone" gone..?

    Hello

I have a little quirk on mine 3650. It does love to play up after i used either SmartMovie, Photographer (with the zoom function, not with others) or Ogg Player. After using any of those, and shutting down the phone next time, it won't reboot, i then have to remove the battery for a few seconds to get it back on track.

Now i loved to use the function "lock phone" from the power button menu when having the phone on the nightstand. Recently one evening i locked it that way, but later i needed to use it again so i wanted to unlock but to my surprise it was not locked (?) After using it, i decided to shut it off to recharge the battery. Next morning when i turned it on, AFTER the PIN code it asked the lock code (???) which i put in, and it worked flawless.

Now, yesterday evening i discovered that the option "lock phone" has disappeared from the power button menu. Now there is "lock keypad", which was definitely NOT there before... and which works, it locks the keypad.

But i want "lock phone" back! How can i do this..?

Any help is greatly appreciated... i also can't find that item in any other menu....

    Kind regards

    Thanh

You still want the AutoLock? Hmm ...

I do know ... that you can install a 3rd party program like JJL Keylock, which gives you the same autolock feature as the old Series 40 phones (which I prefer)

not auto-lock - PHONE lock please......

    Hello

Thank you for reply But i do not want "Auto Lock" for the keypad... that one i got, it is a rather small app but i don't use it because it also locks while playing a game or surfing the net, and there it rather disturbs. It also interfers with certain JAVA things and makes the phone freeze. I uninstalled that one.

What i mean is the previous option in the "power button menu" that said "Lock Phone". After having done so, there appeared a large lock symbol (more a picture actually) on the screen, and in oprder to use the phone again, the lock code had to be entered. I have my lock code of course changed from the default which everyone knows.

I once got a phone stolen, and i want to prevent this from happening again. Having it locked and requiring a code, along with a sticker in the back that reads: "Attention! If this phone is offered to you in locked state, please contact it's rightfull owner on <my other number>. Reward!" If a thief sells this phone, there's virtually only one place to go in BKK.... and the folks there DO get suspicious meanwhile when someone sells a phone without charger or even one that's locked AND the default lock code doesn't work. Too many raids on the place because too many stolen phones ended up there. My own Panasonic x66, disappeared at the hands of a pickpocket whilst staying in a disco, was found there by myself (!!) because 1) it is a pretty rare phone in Thailand, not popular and 2) the thief was stupid enough to keep all my pictures, contacts etc in the phone. Having identical content on a second phone helps greatly! Of course the store which bought it from the thief and had to give it to me for free will be carefull in the future. ID checks alone won't do, as in my case the thief used a fake passport for ID and could not be found.

If i sell a phone, which happens pretty regular since i keep changing my secondary phone and also from time to time buy cheap ones, refurbish/fix them and sell them, i always give them a copy of my passport, my full postal address and my mobile phone number should any problem arise. Meanwhile i am even known around MBK because i go there on a weekly basis

    Kind regards.....

...try soft resetting the phone by going to tools > settings
    > phone > general > original phone settings....
if this doesnt do it, then maybe a format is the next solution
