Hi there,

Does anyone know how mobile fones are tracked and if you can tell?

Yup phones can be tracked. Whenever you make a call from within a GSM network, your originating Cell ID number is recorded. Thats how you can see where your calls originated from when you go through your mobile bill.

I work from Telstra, and the access we get enables us to see which particular cell a customer is in at any given time.. So you get a pretty good idea about the whereabouts of someone. If you wanna get more practise with Cell ID's, download Netmonitor and install it on your phone (Symbian). There are heaps of system apps which will let you see your Cell ID...
