Is it possible to unlock a Nokia 6585

I have a friend with a Nokia 6585 locked by his provider. I have done a bit of
reading and there are companies who will sell an unlock code for a 6585. It appears
they are using the stock DCT4 calculator. I am reluctant to attempt to unlock, since
the DCT-4 is for GSM phones and the 6585 is CDMA. Does anyone have advice
on how to proceed? I'd prefer to have all the software myself, since it might come
in handy later.
