Nokia 3220 No caller ID, should i flash... help!!!

I just bought a Nokia 3220 from nokiausa.com without service so i could use it my country (Costa Rica) where the network is just the same. everything works fine but the caller ID, which only shows that someone is calling but does not says who... Do I need to update the firmware, or flash my phone or something? I only have a DKU-5 USB cable, will that do? Also which software should I use? Thanks in advance.

...contacting your service provder. My experience with this problem is that your service provider has this service turned off on your account. You may be able to check by dialing *#30# . Should your phone then say "Number of caller not shown," you definately have a problem with your servive provider. Please note that not all networks allow you to check your caller ID functionality with this GSM code.

This has happened to me before on the Tmobile network. They insisted that the feature was turned on in the account; however, after Tmobile toggled the service off and then on again everything was fine.

i checked with the *#30# code, and it says number of caller is shown!!!, what can it be then??
