Ok people. If you can help me out it would be much appreciated.
I have a nokia 7250i. Just finished paying it off on a monthly plan, was thinking of switching to prepaid. To back up all the phone numbers in the phone and on my sim card I thought I would connect it to my pc using DKU-5 and latest nokia pc suite software.
I followed the instructions 100%, installing the drivers and software, connecting the cable etc, the first time I attempted to establish a connection, the PC software crashed and when I looked at my phone I saw the error message 'contact service' which I've now discovered pops up frequently with nokia mobile phones.
Instead of the cable helping me to back up my data, it has pretty much been the cause of me losing it.
What I want to know is...
1.) Is is possible to recover the phone numbers, pics, messages, games that were stored on the phone before the error? If so how?
2.) If I can't recover that data, and I want to flash the phone and start with a 'factory fresh' phone how do I go about it?
3.) What software/files do I need to download? Where can I download it from? How do I use the software?
4.) Can I use a DKU-5 to flash the phone, or is it 100% necessary to use a different kind of cable? If it is impossible to use the DKU-5, what kind of cable would I need to use? Are there schematics available for building the cable from home (my father is an electronics technician)?
Thanks again to anyone who can help me with my problem. I can't say I'm a fan of nokia anymore.
